Historic Victoria, village squares, archaeological sites, open countryside and a varied coast all sit across a small but distinctly different island.
Start in Victoria and the Cittadella
Victoria, also called Rabat locally, is Gozo’s main town. The Cittadella’s ramparts and museums offer an introduction to the island’s layered history and views across its valleys and villages. Check the official venue page for opening arrangements, tickets and accessibility.
Move beyond the centre
Ġgantija Temples near Xagħra, Ramla Bay, the salt pans, Marsalforn, Xlendi, Dwejra and Ta’ Pinu are spread across the island. Plan transport between them and allow for the actual route rather than judging only by map distance. Visit Gozo maintains walks and destination information.
Crossing and practical planning
The Malta–Gozo crossing, fast passenger options, schedules and fares are operator-managed and can change. Verify current service notices with the official operator on your travel day. On Gozo, check the return connection and onward bus/taxi options before setting out.
